This interview is with a gentleman who was filming the twin towers while people jumped. Nothing is shown in this...he is sadly describing a couple of scenes that will remain in his head forevermore. Don't watch this unless you will be okay to watch this man crying
How can anyone not appreciate the beauty of this photo? If it had been taken in color, all the emotions of the scene would have been diminished considerably, and it would have just become another nudie picture. But black and white photos bring out the grain in the wooden floorboards, the beautiful shadowing on the woman's body, and turns the scene into a work of art. There is nothing sexual about the shot. Old wooden floors and an innocent pose of a lovely woman makes this black and white one of my favorites. A sense of serenity prevails.
You have to give "Jack" an A+ for his creative ploy in deceiving bystanders of his true intentions. Then again, I wouldn't like "Jack" too much if it happened to MY vehicle. Oh, that's okay. My vehicle happens to be the Public Transport System in the city (aka: the immaculate buses that never cut little cars with their little drivers off at intersections and lights! Lol).
America: Sister Golden Hair
Live 1975
Well I tried to make it Sunday
But I got so damned depressed,
That I set my sights on Monday
And I got myself undressed;
I ain't ready for the altar
But I do agree there's times,
When a woman sure can be
A friend of mine;
Well I keep on thinkin' 'bout you
Sister golden hair surprise,
And I just can't live without you
Can't you see it in my eyes;
I been one poor correspondent
I been too too hard to find,
But it doesn't mean
You ain't been on my mind;
Will you meet me in the middle
Will you meet me in the air,
Will you love me just a little
Just enough to show you care;
Well I tried to fake it
I don't mind sayin',
I just can't make it
On invitation by the Politecnico Milan I joined into the IDCT09 Conference as one of the Keynote speakers. It was a real honor to share some of my thoughts on advanced design techniques and sensibilities with a distinguished audience and with this great group of peers. The lecture´s title: Sense and Advanced Sensiblity - about the relationship of sensuality, obsessions and advanced design techniques. The presentations covered a wide array of issues involving contemporary design and fabrication techniques. Here are some words from the conference webpage:
This International conference wants to give the state of the art of innovative design and construction technologies, with a wide perspective of all the operators involved form architect, to engineer to supplier and clients.
The themes for IDCT09 will be focused on the following areas:- Design and form finding
- Engineering and computational methods
- File2factory and mass customization
- Digital processes in construction industry
- Innovative materials
- Advanced design and construction technologies
- Technology transfer
- Multidisciplinary approach
SELF PORTRAIT THURSDAY!
11.26.09
This is some vintage Craig (and technically not even a self portrait).
HOWEVER, this is SO APPROPRIATE because it's me at the age of seven or eight on Thanksgiving at my aunt's house.
And I'm hugging her pet turkey!
Who the hell has a pet turkey?
My aunt had a female one, too, but they're smaller.
She also had TONGS of other birds at her ranch house including peacocks, chickens, macaws, parrots, guineafowls, etc.
I hope you all have a good Thanksgiving.
I'm spending this holiday with Ben J.'s family in D.C., where they have two lovely Boston Terriers. =)
(While in the area, we'll also be visiting the Baltimore Aquarium and the textile museum in D.C.)
Eat up!
Lawrence Taylor
NFL legend Lawrence Taylor was arrested by Florida cops in November 2009 and charged with leaving the scene of an accident after he allegedly hit another car on a Hialeah-area expressway. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the former New York Giant great drove away in his damaged vehicle and claimed to have hit only a guardrail. Taylor, 50, was then booked into a Miami lockup on the misdemeanor charge and released after posting $500 bond.
