Well its like the commercial, only I wasn't taking a bath.. lol. Its what Adobe Illustrator does for me when I have a few hours to mess around with stuff. Not that this particular image took that long! Just what I ended up with lol. Anyway.. hope you like it, I dunno what I'll name him but I think I'm kinda liking the li'l (big?) dude.
If you're a fan of typography, I highly suggest checking out Words Are Pictures. I was pleasantly surprised to find the first two featured pieces for two of my most decadent passions - BMW and Persian poetry. Call it synchronicity, if you will. Maybe it's just a stroke of sheer randomness.

J'ai trouvé une superbe photo de Balthus. Je vais l'imprimer et la mettre à l'atelier. Travailler sous son regard… un peu de son énergie va peut-être me faire la grâce de m'aider dans ma recherche ?
J'ai repris mon trompettiste. D'abord, retravailler la tête, la chevelure, la barbe et préciser la forme du chapeau. Travailler la main et la trompette.
Puis les finitions. La queue du cheval, la barrière, le dossier de la chaise roulante. Je me demande… terminée ? Alors, comme je me connais, je ne décide rien d'autre que de la placer en observation sur le chevalet de séchage
et, petit rituel de fin de tableau: gratter la palette, pour mieux repartir sur un nouveau projet.

I decided to buy some more art for my pad. Now, I'm not really a photography person, but I have been following Troy Paiva -- aka "Lost America" -- and his night photography for quite a while and decided to buy one or two of his prints. I love old signage of motels and desert scenes (I was so bummed the neon graveyard in Vegas was closed while there last) as well as bombed out looking buildings with glorious crown moldings, so I'm still trying to do decide. These are open edition prints made to order, so you can pretty much pick any image and get it...
Hmm, can't decide.

Another quick update to say that we've been shortlisted as 1 of 12 possible acts to open the main stage of this year's Summer Sundae Festival here in Leicester! Naturally this would be a fantastic gig for us as we'd be opening on the same bill as Supergrass among others. It'd also be great exposure ahead of the single release in September and album (hopefully now) in October!
But of course we need your help and support to win the slot! It's down to an online vote (isn't everything nowadays?) and so we need people to head along to the regional BBC site HERE, select 'Shortwave Fade' and press 'vote'. Right that's it - request over. In other news, the album is coming together now. Gavin has been working with the mixes and thinks are taking shape and sounding great! We're hoping to head back to the studio next week to tweak the mixes a little further and it should then be ready in a couple of weeks.... the release is going to be a little later than we'd originally planned but hey, that's always the way - right?! In any case, the 'Leave' single release is still going ahead on 8th September and we now have a bit more of a gap between that and the album release, which is actually a good thing...
We had a fun gig at The Purple Turtle in Camden a couple of nights ago. I believe that there may be some film of it floating around somewhere, which we'll try and track down and post at some point! We're also at Sumo in Leicester this Friday night for anyone in the area. It's our first hometown gig for.....so long - it's going to be great!

I have no idea what an age of empty rings signifies, but it makes sense. Its right. Everything Jeff did was right. The howling singing is hard to handle but it really is right, the only way.

I thought about it and I decided that my etsy work is going to slow and then probably cease. Its not that its not something I enjoy doing and it is something I want to persue. But now is not the right time. I still have some designs I want to screen off before I don't have my screens anymore (dorm room is no place for screenprinting) additionally I have lots of stuff I havn't photographed yet. Stuff dealing with impending doom and young love.
